I think that design looks just a bit appealing, but it's not anything new really, I mean look at it, it screams WORDPRESS THEME! I think he [the designer] was in the right track with button styling, among other refinements, but when it comes to overall look, it is too dark, it under-exposes the profile picture, and the Facebok bar is dull and over-spaced; not to mention that its top bar links could kill the whole thing just by first impression, too little & generic.

I think the current Facebook design might be a bit Google-simplistic in terms of design, but it's functions are there ready to be fully noticed by the user, ultimately achieving the design's goal.

My only recommendation to Facebook, in my view, work on detail and polish that trademark blue.

The current layout that Facebook has is extremely efficient; using space appropriately and condensing necessary features into a suitably confined space. The above design seems to take all elements of this efficiency away - for instance, there spans a ~800px/~100px header bar at the top, yet only contains three links? There are many things that stand out, which seem graphologically incorrect. Such as the 'who's online' bar that only contains 2 columns, the black and white contrast, the sudden use of rounded elements at the bottom of the page (who does that...?), little odd background textures, the profile display picture looks like it's just been copied and pasted from 1998. There are things that I like about the layout.. but unfortunately, they are the design elements that pre-exist on the current Facebook design.

This actually might be the reason I'll go back to Facebook. Regardless of the efficiency, It'll still be Facebook.

You're missing the point of why the facebook is so plain. It's extremely simple to use, there are no UI distractions, it just works.

I think the design is fine. It's simple and it works.
On the other hand, I think they need to implement new features like a kick-ass chat system and possibly an email client.
Just my $0.02 though.

This would actually be a dream come true for me. I'm tired of looking at a tired and worn out social network. Since Twitter got redesigned, Facebook needs to step up its game.

Everyone knew the end of Digg was near. I think it's good, as long as he doesn't leave Diggnation. I'd be pretty ticked. Anyway, I hope he comes with a new, fresh idea. It'll be sad if he left the industry altogether.

True. This is surprisingly, a very addicting game! I am constantly competing with friends on who can complete the objectives faster! What also is amazing, is that it's made by one guy! Andreas Illiger!
I highly recommend this game to anyone!
